How To Use A Digital Vaporizer

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 1:08 pm

Those individuals who use a vaporizer experience the benefit created by inhaling the natural elements in plants and herbs. By heating the plant material to the correct temperature, a vaporizer releases the active ingredients of the herb in a vapor form. The active ingredients of the plant matter are released in their purest form, and can then be inhaled.

No smoke is created when using a vaporizer, as the herbs are heated to a point just before combustion and are not burned. Vaporizing offers a healthy alternative to smoking, as there are no harmful carcinogens or toxins produced that can damage the lungs and respiratory system and cause cancer.

The digital vaporizer is a device that uses an electronic digital temperature control. These devices plug conveniently into an electric outlet, and require a power source of either 110 or 220 volts of electricity. Some models are also available that operate with a rechargeable battery.

The temperature can accurately be set to the exact degree required to evaporate the active ingredients of the plant being used. Each herb uses a different temperature level to vaporize, so the ability to set an exact temperature makes the vaporizer more efficient. The digital control on the vaporizer is easily adjusted, and enhances the vaporizing experience.

Herbs vaporize at temperature settings of low (up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit), medium (up to 350 degrees F) or high (up to 400 degrees F). The active ingredients of the most popular herbs vaporize between the settings of 338 and 372 degrees. Lower temperature settings create a light, misty vapor, while higher temperature settings create a denser and stronger vapor mist.

Digital vaporizers are very efficient, convenient, and easy to use. They can be used for aromatic benefits or for medicinal purposes. The user simply needs to set the temperature to the correct setting, turn it on and wait for a few minutes until it reaches the optimal heat. You then load the heating plate with the herbs, and wait for the aromatic mist to form. Once the vapor is created, it can be safely inhaled. A convectional fan is used in digital vaporizers to draw air over the herbs and create a healthy, vaporized mist.

The price of a digital vaporizer ranges from $140 to $680, depending on the manufacturer and the different options and features that are available. The best type of digital vaporizer depends on its intended use. Volcano vaporizers are “top of the line” and priced toward the higher end of the price range, and portable vaporizers are lower in price although they are also very effective.

Digital vaporizers come in a range of sizes and colors to match any decor, and some are even small enough to be carried in your pocket. The portable type is a great device for people on the go. These vaporizers can be used in cars, boats, offices, or at home and are light in weight so they are easily transported. Some models also come with an automatic shut off feature, so you don’t need to worry about burning the herbs if you leave the vaporizer unattended.
The real benefit of a digital vaporizer over other types is the ability to accurately control the temperature setting. Below are some popular herbs and the temperatures required for vaporization.

Getting The Most From Your Vaporizer

Thursday 6 August 2009 @ 12:56 pm

In order to get the maximum benefit from your vaporizer, you need to understand how to properly use the device. Usage instructions vary by model and style of vaporizer you own, but there are some general rules that apply to all types of vaporizers.

When using a vaporizer, you need to lightly grind the herbs before placing them in the device. If you grind the plant material too finely, you will end up with a powder dust. An herb grinder works well for this purpose, or even a coffee grinder will do. You should grind the herbs enough so they are in small pieces.

After the herb is ground properly, you should spread it evenly on the heating dish. You then turn on the power switch, and wait until the vaporizer is heated to the appropriate temperature. As the herbs are heated in the vaporizer, the essential ingredients will be released in a misty vapor form. The length of heating time will vary by model, but the usually waiting time is 5 to 10 minutes.

When the herb is heated to the right temperature, a fine mist will appear. The herbs will turn to a golden or brown color, but they will not burn. When the vapor appears, you can inhale it directly or store it temporarily in a balloon-type bag for later use. The vapor is thin in comparison to smoke, so it may appear that you need to inhale a lot of the mist to receive any benefits. However, this is not the case. The mist contains the purest extracted ingredients from the plant material so you use less and there is little waste.

Vaporizers are simple to use. You load the herbs in the device and turn on the heating element. Vaporizers must reach a temperature of between 200 to 375 degrees to vaporize the herbs. When the ideal temperature is reached, many vaporizers have a light that turns on and a fan will start blowing. When the fan starts, you can inhale the moist vapor from the mouthpiece.

You should inhale for a period of 8 to 10 seconds, until you taste the flavor of the herbs. The flavor will be pure and not tainted with smoke or a burned smell. Many vaporizers have a switch to control the strength of the vapor. By holding down the switch, you will have a lighter vapor and pushing up the switch will provide a stronger vapor.

The remaining residue in the vaporizer will be minimal after use, and can be disposed of in the garbage can after it has cooled. When the plant material has been vaporized, you should turn off the power switch on your vaporizer, although many models turn off automatically. The vaporizer should be cleaned after each use to maintain the purity of the herbal extract, so that other materials do not contaminate it.

Because the plant material is not burned, there are no harmful carcinogens or tar released to cause respiratory ailments, cancer, and lung diseases that are related to smoking. Using a vaporizer in the same room as others does not expose them to second-hand smoke and the device is odor-free. Using a vaporizer is convenient, easier to use than a microwave oven, and offers a healthier alternative to the smoker.

Thrombosed Hemorrhoid Treatment: Five Treatments To Fix Thrombosis Fast

Wednesday 5 August 2009 @ 4:41 pm

First off, let’s make sure we know exactly what thrombosed hemorrhoids are. Thrombosis occurs inside a blood vessel, when a blood clot forms which obstructs the flow of blood. Think of it like a pipe with a clog, and if that clog isn’t fixed, the blood doesn’t flow and this can lead to health problems, not to mention much pain and suffering. So what can be done about thrombosed hemorrhoids? In other words, what types of thrombosed hemorrhoid treatments are out there?

Thrombosed hemorrhoids might feel like a raisin if they are external and you will actually be able to see the swollen veins. The clot can also harden and feel more like an over dried raisin. The good news is that thrombosed hemorrhoids can be treated in much the same way as normal hemorrhoids, although thrombosed hemorrhoids have been known to be more painful and obvious due to the effects of clotting blood vessels.

Some common home-remedies includes a warm sitz bath, a diet change, topical creams and ointments and even all-natural supplements. It is important to note the topical remedies may help with immediate relief but do little to treat the hemorrhoids so they never come back (which is the purpose of any good treatment).

The fifth most common treatment of hemorrhoids (drum-roll please) is a diet with a lot of fiber. This of course goes hand-in-hand with a diet change, but it is amazing how many cases of hemorrhoids can be solved with a simple increase in fiber.

However, sometimes, and especially with thrombosed hemorrhoids, a treatment of all natural supplements specifically designed to get rid of hemorrhoids, as well as an all natural topical ointment to relieve the pain and begin the healing process may be the best choice. Hemorrhoid treatments like Venapro, Zenmed and Neo-Healar may be just the ticket, specifically Venapro or Zenmed which provide an oral supplement and topical treatment.

Some ingredients that are found in the Venapro supplement for example include Oat Straw and Horse Chestnut. These supplements help reduce swelling and inflammation.

The best place to start is always with home remedies, unless the pain is unbearable and the hemorrhoids are visible, which of course means you should seek the advice of a medical professional. If the home remedies don’t work (more fiber, change in diet or the sitz bath) then a 2-in-1 treatment like Venapro or Zenmed or even Neo-Healar might be the way to go.

However if you still need further treatments, the thrombosed hemorrhoid may need to be drained or removed (hemorrhoidectomy). This is usually a last option resulting from intolerable pain that cannot be curbed with any other treatments.

Thrombosed hemorrhoid treatment is very possible and as long as you take the necessary steps to get rid of your hemorrhoids, it should be a painless process. And the best part is that in most cases you can say goodbye to hemorrhoids forever with a few diet changes or supplements.

Hypnotic Persuasion: God Sent Answer to Shopaholics

Tuesday 4 August 2009 @ 8:32 pm

Hypnotic persuasion can be used to solve unmanageable spending of an individual. This is commonly known as shopping problem or shopaholic-ism usually among women. This has been discussed comprehensively in the 2009 movie Confessions of a Shopaholic starring Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy.

Uncontrollable spending is a severe predicament and can be an addiction for a number of people. It is distinguished by the necessity to obtain items even when one does not necessitate or even need an item. It is a total waste of money and ruins relationship of people.

There are people who are proud of the tagging because it may be a status symbol. They brag that they can afford so why bother?

Yes, it could be true. They could truly afford but it would be better if they money spent was utilized for more essential things. It is unwise to spend to useless products in this tough times, right?

Shopaholics buy things when they are feeling down, miserable, irritated or just plain troubled with life. In shopping they may receive a temporary high similar to drug addicts or alcoholics. Nevertheless, like any compulsion the high is not devoid of its price and can bring about those affected and even entire families into great sums of debt. It can also ruin relationships among husbands and wives. I remember watching a feature on a TV program how a couple broke up because as the husband works hard overseas for his family, the wife mismanaged the remittance. Hard-earned money was spent on wife’s caprices like fancy dresses, shoes, make-up kits and the like. He has even neglected the basic necessities of her children because of this obsession.

This problem often leads to an ever growing build-up of things which are never utilized. Sufferers may even find themselves enjoying from the practice and will disagree with officemates, friends and family members that they have a predicament. Individuals distressed with irrational spending should be treated with respect and care for they have a true obsession.

In hypnosis session, hypnotherapist can feed the sufferer suggestions in order to gradually change the attitude on overspending. The practitioner can suggest positive thoughts that can change the perception of the subject.

These actions are called hypnotic behavioral modification. In this function, a hypnotist centers on one fastidious habit that is entrenched in your subconscious, in this case shopaholics. With the control panel to your condition of the mind open, the hypnotist may be capable to reprogram your subconscious to upend the behavior. Hypnotic persuasion is really a heaven sent answer to shopaholics.

Why Your Life Depends On Getting Massages

Tuesday 4 August 2009 @ 5:48 pm

Auto accidents occur every day. People on the cell phone, texting, changing the channel on the radio, water bottle slips off the lap or cup holder, not paying attention, someone cut you off, you were speeding, whatever it may be; people run in to each other all the time. If you are the unfortunate victim of an automobile accident, I can tell you that chiropractors are there to help you. Massage Therapy can be very beneficial so that you do nt end up living your life with chronic pain.

The main goals of a Massage session, beside the obvious one of making you feel good; are to reduce the stress on your body. Massage will also reduce pain and discomfort. Massage can help get rid of scar tissue and muscle adhesions. When you receive a massage, you will have increased circulation to your injured soft tissues. Finally, massage can also increase your range of motion.

When an accident happens, it has the tendency to turn your life upside down. You need to deal with insurance companies, auto body shops, rental cars and personal injury attorneys. Perhaps you have to miss work too.

All this can be very stressful. On top of the stress, you have the physical pain as well. You might even have permanent injury. This is exactly why it is very important to treat your injuries. At the very least get yourself checked out to see if you were indeed injured.

Many times people go untreated because they think that it was just a fender bender and no damage occurred. You may be surprised. Many times the pain will not show up until months or even years later. You need to make your health your number one priority.

The most common auto accident injuries are whiplash, low back pain, headaches, shoulder sprain/strain, cervical sprain/strain, thoracic sprain/strain and lumbar sprain/strain. Massage Therapy can treat all of your auto accident symptoms.

Massage works best when combined with chiropractic care. Your chiropractor will put your hard tissues back into the normal position and your massage therapist will work on healing the soft tissues that surround all those hard tissues. It is a great combination. When combined even further with other types of therapy and exercises and stretching you have a total health combo.

Do not wait to be treated. Do not say maybe it will go away in a few days. We pay for automobile insurance so in the event that we do have an accident, we can get the care that we need and deserve. Your PIP auto injury insurance will cover Massage Therapy.

It is mandatory for a Florida resident to carry auto insurance. If you have had an accident- use it to care for you. Think about you first. (So often we put others first. This is not the time to do that) Get treatment for your auto injuries. I am here in the office to help you. You have many options in our office- Massage Therapy being a great choice.

It is surprising to me how many people have never had a massage. They come in and treat for injuries in an auto accident and they get a massage with their adjustment and they say that was great, I never had a massage before. Well massage is great for your muscles all the time even when you are not injured.

It is good for maintenance and prevention just like routine adjustments are good for your spinal health. Routine massages are good for your muscle health. So do you and yourself a favor and schedule a massage today.

If you are in the central Florida area then come visit me. I’m one of the top Altamonte Springs Chiropractor offices. I also work as an Orlando Chiropractor as well.

Stress Relief 101: Take Time for Yourself

Tuesday 4 August 2009 @ 3:20 am

Stress can make you feel overwhelmed and it can zap the joy out of activities that you once enjoyed and looked forward to. It can make you a hard person to live with and it can drive your family members away from you. But you don’t have to let stress take over your life. In fact, stress relief can be as simple as taking a little time for yourself.

The way we react to stressful situations has a lot to do with our mindset. We’ve all had days that where we just can’t handle any more and the least little thing sends us spiraling out of control. Then again, we’ve all had days where it seems like we’re on top of the world. Nothing can get us down and there isn’t anything that we can’t tackle. If you want more of the latter, simply taking time out of your hectic day for yourself is all that is needed.

Simplify Stress Relief

So many of us today are on medications that help us deal with stress. While medications can be helpful, they only work to mask the problem at hand. To enjoy true relief from stress you need to change your mindset. To do this, you need to build up your whole self and this starts with taking care of you. Here are just a few things that you can do to nurture your mind and body while at the same time relieving stress:

- Meditate - Take a few minutes each day to relax your body. Go to a quiet room, relax your muscles, and breathe deeply. Concentrate on good thoughts only.
- Sleep - The human body needs sleep to function at its best. Make sure that you get at least 8 hours of continuous sleep each night.
- Eat right and exercise - Nutrition and exercise are vital for maintaining a healthy mental outlook. Avoid foods high in sugars as these can make you tired and groggy which will further hinder your stress handling abilities.
- Say no to caffeine - Stimulants like caffeine can make it harder to stay calm through stressful situations.
- Breaks - Make sure that you take several small breaks throughout the work day. This will help you refocus and give you a renewed energy to tackle the task at hand.
- Keep a journal - Writing in journal will help you get negative thoughts out of your body and onto paper where they will look less reasonable. Sometimes simply writing a problem out on paper makes it seem not so bad.

As you can see, stress relief is not that difficult if you just take a little time out for yourself each day. Be sure to set aside time each day so that you can enjoy your favorite activities and let your family know that you will not be available during this time. Try it for a week. You might be surprised by how much taking as little as 30 minutes for yourself each day plays a part in stress relief.

Claustrophobia Treatments And Hypnotherapy

Monday 3 August 2009 @ 3:29 am

People with claustrophobia experience fears associated with small spaces or areas where it may be difficult to exit quickly, such as elevators, trains or airplanes. Some people even feel claustrophobic in MRI scanning machines. Due to their fear, claustrophobia sufferers tend to avoid closed-off spaces. Sufferers also tend to sit close to exits or along the sides of a room, versus approaching the center. Claustrophobic people frequently experience anxiety attacks when they begin to feel “trapped” or closed in. For some people, being in a tight space is as terrifying as being buried alive.

Having a panic attack in a confining space can be a frightening experience for claustrophobic people and those around them. When an individual’s claustrophobia is triggered, they will often experience anxiety attacks, difficulty breathing, nausea, fainting, and other, often extreme, reactions. A person can develop claustrophobia at any age or in response to a traumatic event, but its onset often occurs during childhood.

Claustrophobia can be triggered by many different situations, which may vary from person to person. For example, some claustrophobic people may only feel nervous while riding an elevator, while other people find large crowds trigger their condition. Regardless of the particular situation, claustrophobia and other phobias tend to interfere with people’s daily lives and personal satisfaction. People with phobias often develop avoidant behaviors and suffer a decreased quality of life as they plan out their activities around their fears.

For many sufferers, the fear of embarrassment or humiliation over their phobia is as debilitating as the phobia itself. Many phobia sufferers recognize that their fears are overblown and irrational, but cannot seem to keep themselves from losing self-control. The reason for this is because phobias are rooted deep within the unconscious mind, which no amount of conscious effort can be fully effective in controlling. This poses a special challenge to the treatment of phobias.

Claustrophobia can be treated with anti-anxiety medication or therapy. Hypnosis is an excellent, safe and non-invasive form of therapy with no negative side effects. It works by targeting the underlying causes of fear in the unconscious mind to rapidly eliminate a phobia. In particular, a program that utilizes Ericksonian hypnotherapy techniques and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be used to treat a phobia. This revolutionary program uses a variety of hypnosis techniques to help people overcome their fears.

The first step in the therapy process is helping the phobia sufferer become relaxed and anxiety-free. Hypnosis has long been used as a form of stress-relief therapy, to help people clear their minds and focus deeply.

Traditional hypnosis techniques have made use of direct, post-hypnotic suggestions to help treat phobias. The problem with the direct approach is that the conscious mind tends to resist being merely “told” what to do. So many people throw up barriers to acceptance of suggestions. In this day and age, people are particularly prone to resist direct suggestions because we tend to be independent thinkers who question everything.

The very essence of they hypnotic state is deep relaxation. Once in the relaxed state, rather than using post-hypnotic suggestions, an alternate approach known as systematic desensitization can often help extinguish a phobia through visual imagery.

Ericksonian hypnotherapy uses a more refined approach that conventional techniques. It uses indirect suggestions hidden in interesting metaphors and stories to engage the unconscious mind and persuade it to follow a desirable, phobia-free thought process. Since indirect suggestions do not need to be specifically tailored to a single phobia like direct post-hypnotic suggestions do, one good Ericksonian hypnosis program can work to successfully treat any phobia or even multiple phobias.

NLP, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, is a modern form of therapy that many highly trained hypnotherapists have adopted. The most effective NLP technique for eliminating a phobia is called the Visual - Kinesthetic Disassociation, or V/K. The V/K is known as the one session phobia cure, and with good reason. Phobic or panic reactions (attacks) take place because traumatic feelings are attached to and triggered by mental images. With the V/K, the traumatic feelings are disconnected from the mental images - often in just one session, and the phobia is essentially extinguished.

People struggling with claustrophobia can find rapid relief by using hypnotherapy. The combination of Ericksonian hypnosis and NLP techniques can help anyone overcome their fears. Hypnotherapy has helped countless people feel safe and comfortable in situations where earlier, they would have completely broken down. The techniques of hypnosis have provided phenomenal benefits for sufferers of phobias and continue to change lives each and every day.

Meditation: A Great Tool for Stress Relief

Monday 3 August 2009 @ 3:27 am

Meditation has the power to heal all sorts of woes including stress. The power of the mind is truly an amazing thing and meditation has been linked to more than a few miraculous medical breakthroughs. Even doctors do not completely understand the mind’s power to heal the body but they will agree that the mind plays a major role in our overall physical health. And if the mind has all of this power to heal our bodies, wouldn’t that mean that it can also rid us of stress?

Put simply meditation is the practice of bringing together all of your mind’s energies and focusing them on one chosen point. This point can be an image, a symbol, a sound, or anything that brings you comfort. Often one’s own breathing is used as the source of concentration. This is done in a quiet environment that is free of distractions.

It has been proven that stress hormones that are found in the body actually decrease during meditation. And if meditation is practiced often, the stress relief is continuous meaning that the stress-reducing benefits of meditation will be felt throughout the day.

Meditation for Stress Relief: Steps to Follow

As mentioned before, in order to meditate you need to choose a quiet place that is free from distraction. Choose a time that you are home alone or retreat to an outdoor spot that is tranquil and inviting. Let your family know that you are not to be disturbed during this time.

1. Pick your focus. This can be an image, word, short prayer or affirmation that you strongly believe in or something brings you peace. Even saying something simple like, “Stress go away”, can be highly effective.
2. Find a comfortable position to sit in and sit quietly while closing your eyes.
3. Consciously relax your muscles starting with your feet and working your way up. Envision the energy leaving your muscle groups one by one: feet, calves, thighs, abdomen, shoulders, neck and head.
4. Slow your breathing and imagine your focus silently each time you exhale.
5. Don’t be discouraged if a wayward thought creeps its way in to your mind while you’re meditating. Simply return to your meditation as if nothing has happened.
6. Continue meditating for 10 to 20 minutes.
7. When finished, do not stand immediately and return to your activities. Allow yourself to sit for a few minutes and calmly reflect on normal things. You can also use this peaceful, stress-free time to make plans for the day.

The best stress relief is felt if you try to meditate at least two times a day. The best times are usually before breakfast and dinner when your stomach is empty and your mind and body is not concentrating on food digestion. These are also great regrouping times to get your thoughts together so that you can relieve stress and increase production for the tasks ahead. Another great time is immediately before bed. Meditating before sleep will allow you to drift off worry and stress free.

Hypnosis IBS: Hypnosis as Effective Treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Sunday 2 August 2009 @ 9:00 pm

As of 1958, the American Medical Association (AMA) has approved and agreed that Hypnosis is a legitimate medical treatment. Through the use of Hypnosis, a certified hypnotist can lessen physical and psychological symptoms of various diseases such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS. This can be done by getting into the subconscious mind and change the way how a person consciously identifies his or her health problems.

Hypnosis is commonly believed as a therapy that can only influence the mind, but because mind and body cannot be separated, it establishes further proof that hypnosis can successfully lessen physical ailments. One example is a case of “spastic colon” or Irritable Bowel Syndrome where in there are a lot of testimonies regarding hypnosis’ effectiveness in alleviating IBS symptoms like pain and diarrhea, constipation, feeling of fullness or bloating and gas.

Fifteen years of intensive scientific research has proven Hypnosis as a harmless, effective and a low cost treatment for relieving almost all of the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Even the Chair of the National Women’s Health Network in Washington, DC, Adriane Fugh-Berman, MD, was overwhelmed by its efficiency and stated that Hypnosis should be the treatment of choice for IBS particularly those cases that do not respond anymore to conservative treatment.

The stress that people struggling from IBS can be reduced by hypnotherapy because it promotes rest, positive thinking and coping skills. Moreover, one will experience less anxiety and depression that were triggered by dealing with an incurable disorder. As a result, there will be a notable decrease in stress related attacks.

In contrast to what many people think, consciousness is not lost during hypnosis, it just turns into a more selective state and becomes aware of internal activities rather than external distractions. That is why the mind is highly receptive to suggestions and ideas that enhance positive thoughts and promote healing. Moreover, a lot of people describe that the real feeling of being hypnotized are satisfying, comfortable and exceptionally relaxing.

During the usual waking hours, the windows connecting the conscious mind to the subconscious is closed. However, any situation that induces relaxation can generate the alpha brain waves which prompt the windows to open. Normally, this occurs while we sleep and that results to dreams. In hypnotherapy, a similar state of relaxation will be induced while the client is awake and useful suggestions will be fed directly to the subconscious.

Fortunately, approximately ten percent of people are not affected by hypnosis. Therefore the lucky ninety percent of the population can tremendously benefit from using this therapy to alleviate symptoms not only of IBS but also of different illnesses as such allergy, asthma, irregular heartbeat, muscle spasms as well as neurologic diseases like Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy.
