Utilzing Your Airsoft Guns as a Pest Deterrent

Thursday 23 July 2009 @ 1:46 pm

There are many different uses for airsoft guns in the world today. For most people, the purpose of airsoft is to just host airsoft gun wars at a local park or a friend’s backyard, others are looking for uses for airsoft guns everyday. If you ask people why they started purchasing airsoft guns, you’re sure to find many different answers. Of course you’ll find the answer that there was a particular style of gun that that person just had to buy and use because they loved the style. Others are looking to simply ad d to their collection, some use their airsoft guns for training or target practice. But some answers may surprise you. Many people who purchase airsoft guns are looking for a practical method of pest control in their houses. Here’s the story.

What do You Mean Airsoft and Pest Control?

While it is a controversial subject, of course, many people use their airsoft guns to help aid in pest control around their houses. Are there animals that dig through your trash cans making a mess? How about a dog that wanders into your yard while your children are playing? Squirrels trying to chew their way into your roof or house? The answer for many people is simple, try and dissuade them from coming in with a low powered airsoft gun.

Before you start thinking about animal cruelty, I’m only advising that low speed spring cheap airsoft guns should be the only way to go in this instance. It’s more humane than setting up traps, which can cause serious injury to an animal. Choose a low powered spring airsoft pistol so that if you accidentally hit the animal, it won’t hurt them. If you see the raccoons climbing into your trash can, take the airsoft gun and shoot the trash can a couple of times to scare the animal away, not to hit and hurt the animal. The point is to try and train the animal that coming into your yard or going through your trash cans isn’t okay.

Bird cannons work in much the same way trying to train the birds not to come and stay in a particular area. They don’t aim to hit and hurt the birds, but instead to scare them away. You can see how airsoft guns can be a great tool for controlling the different pests in and around your house without having to hurt the animal. There are different kinds of airsoft guns which shoot pellets at a very high velocity, but you really don’t need something so strong when dealing with animals. Plus, if the animal is hit with a spring airsoft gun, it will only sting a little, to try and teach the animal not to continue in that particular action.

There are many different uses for airsoft guns besides the typical one that so many people are used to using. With a little bit of imagination, you can find other uses for airsoft guns.

The More Sought After Airsoft Gun Type

Wednesday 22 July 2009 @ 5:34 pm

Airsoft guns seem to be one of those sports or pastimes that can enjoyed by all ages and cultures. There are three main kinds of airsoft guns, and in case you’re not familiar with them, they are spring airsoft guns, electric airsoft guns, and gas airsoft guns. Each one of these kinds of guns has their own advantages, and benefits over the other two kinds. So, how do you choose between them? More importantly, what kind of airsoft gun is the most popular kind of gun and why? Is it the gas powered airsoft gun, which shoots a BB at a high velocity, or the classic spring airsoft gun? Many claim that the most popular kind of airsoft gun is actually the electric airsoft gun, and here are some reasons why?

And the Winner is - Electric Airsoft Guns

Many claim that electric airsoft guns are by far the most popular kind of airsoft gun available o the market. Electric airsoft guns use a rechargeable battery to drive an electric motor, which cycles an internal piston to launch the plastic BBs. Electric airsoft guns are a great choice for airsoft wars because you can fire rapidly without having to remember to re-cock the gun between each shot. In fact, an average electric airsoft gun can fire up to 2,000 BBs in a single minute. That would give the player quite an advantage over someone with a spring airsoft gun who has to re-cock the gun between each shot. Electric airsoft guns are excellent choices and are typically a higher quality than spring guns.

The Ease of Operation

Experts have been shouting the benefits of electric airsoft guns over gas powered airsoft guns as well. For example, electric airsoft guns require only batteries to function properly, while gas airsoft guns require costly cans or cartridges of gas. If you invest in a reliable battery charger and rechargeable batteries, then you’re pretty much done with having to spend money for your gun. With gas powered airsoft guns though, you must continually purchase gas cans or cartridges so that your gun will function, so you are continuously spending money on your gun after the initial purchase. This makes electric airsoft guns much more economical for enthusiasts.

As with any decision that you make, you’ll need to look at each of these benefits and drawbacks of the airsoft guns on the market today What it basically comes down to is your own personal preferences and just what you want to use your airsoft gun for. Be sure to weigh your options carefully to figure out which airsoft guns are best for what you want to use them for.

Why Not Have Some Fun With An Airsoft War

Tuesday 21 July 2009 @ 3:23 pm

Many people purchase airsoft guns as collector’s items, or simply just as toys for their children. Airsoft guns are a great toy for both children and adults, not only because of the lifelike look and feel of an actual gun, but also because of the many uses of airsoft guns. One of the most popular uses for airsoft guns are for airsoft guns wars. Airsoft wars are a popular activity with children and even adults everywhere. Less painful and expensive than paintball guns can be, airsoft gun wars are a popular way to get some activity, and have an excellent time with your friends and family. Here are some great benefits to airsoft wars.

Airsoft Wars Anywhere and Everywhere

One of the great things about airsoft gun wars is that they can be played nearly anywhere. From an empty lot, to even a backyard or street with plenty of hiding places, airsoft wars are an excellent game to play. There is no need to worry about hitting objects and leaving behind a splatter of paint, airsoft BB’s are small, plastic, and typically leave no lasting marks on trees, houses or cars which may be in the vicinity. Since you can play airsoft gun wars anywhere, there is no need to worry about reserving a special location with a particular time and place. Just show up and be ready to play!

Saving Money with Airsoft Guns

Paintball guns are a popular toy for children and adults as well, but any avid user must admit that the materials can become quite costly. Not only are many paintball guns over a hundred dollars, but buying gas canisters and the ammunition and protective gear can certainly become quite an investment for a game. With airsoft guns, you can chose between spring loaded guns, electric guns which run off of batteries, or gas powered guns, with relatively inexpensive gas cartridges. Airsoft guns can be purchased for anything from ten dollars to over a hundred, depending on the kind of gun and where you are purchasing it. Plus, ammunition for airsoft wars will run you only a few dollars for several thousand BB’s. Needless to say, airsoft wars can be much more economical for parents and children having to fund their own airsoft gun hobby.

Airsoft Wars and Getting Hit

Anyone who is involved in paintball gun wars will admit that getting hit hurts, badly. Even with the right amount of protection, paintballs can still really hurt when the child is hit, sometimes even breaking the skin. Paintball can sometimes just be too powerful for younger children. Many types of airsoft guns will not have this problem, as many of their guns shoot at a lower speed, making a child with protective coverings much safer, and the pain felt from a lower speed airsoft gun will be enough to let them know they’ve been hit while still enabling them to walk.

Airsoft gun wars will help to get your children out of the house and running around with their friends in the neighborhood. With weight gain on the rise in our country, it’s a great and fun way to get your kids outside burning calories and just enjoying being a kid. There are lots of great advantages to airsoft wars, and it’s not hard to understand why it’s a favorite with adults and children alike.

Airsoft and the Influence on Outdoor Enthusiasts

Monday 20 July 2009 @ 8:08 pm

Airsoft gives people the ability to own a shooting version of their dream gun. Our current laws and the low price point of , it provides a much better solution for many outdoorsmen.

Often, people would watch TV or movies and say something like, “Aw, Sweet, that gun is awesome, I’d like to have one of those”. At times, what you may be seeing in those movies and TV shows, ARE, in fact, airsoft toys. Because of their relatively inexpensive price tags and nearly precise realism, movie studio airs often utilize airsoft guns for it’s production stuff. They simply digitally modify the scenes to incorporate the muzzle flash, effects and sound to mimic real firearms. These guns are very cool, indeed, and the airsoft versions of them are fun for shooting at your friends out of the field of airsoft play. But unlike the movies, if you remove the orange tip, you are violating federal law, and you will be subject to some penalties for doing so. So make sure that you leave that blaze orange tip on there, then go out and have a great time.

Generally speaking, most of the more popular real-steel weapons have an airsoft gun cousin. The Heckler & Koch MP5 series, to include MP5 SD5, MP5A4, MP5 PDW. The venerable H&K G3 Battle Rifle series. Colt M16s. Steyr AUGs. SIG 550s. FAMAS. AK-47s. Machine Guns like the M60. Sub-machine guns such as the IMI Uzis and Ingrams. Shotguns such as the Benelli M2 and Remington 870. Sniping rifles such as the PSG-1, M40A1, Blaser 93R. Pistols such as the famed Berettas, Colts, SIGs, and Glocks. Even the “Hollywood” guns like the RoboCop auto-pistol and the M134 Vulcan (6-barrel Gatling gun) made famous by the Predator and Terminator movies. The list of Airsoft guns is quite sizable, and growing with each passing month.

The ability to own and play with these “dream guns” are in and of itself appealing enough to airsoft lovers. The added benefit of being able to take these guns out to a local airsoft field and “shooting” your friends with it in heated competition is a great attraction.

So there you have it. The movies and TV have a great deal of influence on what kind of airsoft guns kids and teens will want to get. Really adults too. Just make sure you are safe with them, and have a great time!

The Appeal of Spring Airsoft Pistols

Monday 20 July 2009 @ 1:53 pm

Airsoft is a popular pastime with people all over the world, though some may consider it a little extreme. There is so much more to being involved in airsoft guns than owning and using airsoft guns that many times it’s hard for the airsoft gun enthusiast to explain their fascination with them. Spring airsoft guns are a great place to start when it comes to learning about the sport. Here are some great advantages of these guns, and why you might want to consider them as part of your next airsoft purchase.

The Positive Aspects of Spring Airsoft Guns

You’ll find there are many great advantages to using these airsoft toys instead of the electric or gas powered versions also on the market. For one thing, spring guns are more cost effective, many times costing a fraction of the cost of the others. But this doesn’t mean that these pistols are terrible guns. If you do your research and buy your gun from a trusted dealer, then you have nothing to worry about. Also, spring airsoft guns are easy to operate, so that even children can operate these guns without severe risk of injury.

Many people who claim to be experts in airsoft guns will also claim that electric or gas powered airsoft guns can’t be beat. But there are some great reasons why spring airsoft guns have them beat. First of all, the gas powered airsoft guns have issues in extreme temperatures. The gasses used in airsoft are known to act up in moderately cold and hot temperatures, which can do damage to your gun as well as shoot incorrectly if you’re not careful. Not so with spring airsoft guns. Spring airsoft guns can be used in any kind of weather conditions. Also, electric airsoft guns require fresh batteries to run consistently. So either you have to spend a small fortune in batteries, invest in some rechargeable ones, and responsible enough to keep them charged, or face them breaking down in the middle of an airsoft war or something. Another excellent reason to carry a spring airsoft guns is that they can even be used in wet conditions, and you can’t say that about other kinds of airsoft guns.

Spring airsoft guns are an excellent choice for those experienced in airsoft as well as for those interested in starting airsoft. Spring airsoft guns are modeled after actual guns, in fact, some of the world’s most famous firearms have been made into airsoft guns to be enjoyed by the public. But while spring airsoft guns are great toys for children and adults alike, they should still be treated with respect, as many airsoft guns are powerful weapons. If airsoft guns are mishandled or abused, they can still cause great injury. So whether you’re participating in an airsoft war or simply shooting cans in your backyard, spring airsoft guns may be just what you’re looking for.

Ski Japan - Not Only Niseko!

Tuesday 14 July 2009 @ 8:54 am

If you like skiing, and haven’t been to Japan yet, you should put it on the top of your list! It’s one of the finest, relatively undiscovered skiing destinations in the world, with world-class powder snow, unique culture, and friendly people.

Niseko, in Hokkaido, is where about 99% of the ski tourists go. Why? Mainly because of the terrain. Niseko is home to 4 of the biggest ski resorts in Japan - Grand Hirafu, Annupuri, Higashiyama, and more recently, Hanazono. With a combined lift-pass, you have access to the largest combined terrain in the whole of Japan. Niseko is also the only ski region in Japan which permits “off-piste” skiing (although recently many other resorts are following suit), so you can basically carve tracks whichever way you like down the mountain, and you’re almost guaranteed to pop out at a lift somewhere.

But most people don’t realise that Niseko is not the only place in Japan for incredible skiing conditions. In fact, there are numerous other resort areas around Japan, which in many ways are much more fun than Niseko.

The major issue ski tourists have with Niseko is that it’s a “little Australia”, with so many Australian tourists there. As a result, the locals almost all speak English too, which makes you forget you’re in Japan. Now I’m not trying to put Niseko down - I love the area, and have good memories there, but if you really want a cultural Japanese experience, you should consider some of the other regions too.

The Niigata region of Japan is famous for its record dumps (metres upon metres of fresh powder!), and it’s easy access - only 1 hour from Tokyo on the bullet train. This is still relatively unknown to foreigners, and is definitely a destination you should consider, if you want to experience the real Japan.
Nagano, home to the 1998 Winter Olympics, is possibly the most popular ski region among the Japanese. The reason I love Nagano so much is:
a) there are about 10 different resorts in the region to choose from;
b) Japanese people come from far and wide to ski/board there, so you meet a really diverse array of people, all with a shared love for powder, alcohol, and fun; and,
c) of course, like everywhere in Japan, the snow is fantastic!

So if you’re looking to go somewhere different for your ski vacation this year, Japan can offer you an incredible experience. With different kinds of foods to try, hot-springs to enjoy after a long day on the slopes, and fascinating, fun-loving people to meet in the bars at night, you really should check it out at least once. Just remember, although Niseko is the most popular, it doesn’t mean it’s the best!

Ski Japan for free, experience the world-class powder, and the culture too. Work in a ski resort in Japan - choose from a variety of different jobs, in all the best regions.

Using Airsoft Guns to Control Pests Getting Into Your Stuff

Monday 13 July 2009 @ 10:51 am

Believe it or not, there are lots of uses for airsoft guns in the world today. You may not agree with it, but many folks use airsoft guns to keep pest away from their home and belongings. Have a raccoon that goes through your trash cans every night, making a mess? Capture the Flag: A Classic Airsoft Game

Wednesday 8 July 2009 @ 10:07 am

If you have been thinking about getting your friends together and playing a good old fashioned game of airsoft, then you have probably already thought of this airsoft game. What game am I referring to? The classic scenario of Capture The Flag. This classic game has been around as long as I can think of, and is a great way to compete with friends of any level of play.

The rules of the game are pretty easy. Each team has a flag, and they generally get to choose the location of it. The logical location is toward the back of their end of the playing field, and leaving at least one player back to guard it.

The object of the game is to retrieve the other team’s flag, and return it safely to your own base, without getting shot in the process. Usually players that do get shot will be required to sit out for a certain amount of time, for example two minutes, before being allowed back in to the game. Really hard nosed players may play for keeps, and not allow someone who has been shot to re-enter that game.

If someone carrying a flag gets shot, the flag drops. Then, depending on the variation of the game played, the flag will either automatically return to the base in which it was taken, or the flag will be “live”, available for either team to pick up and return to their respective base.

Another variation of the classic game is to play with a single flag. Under these conditions, the single flag will be placed in the middle of the game zone, and the first team to be able to successfully grab the flag, and return to their base is declared the winner. So if you need to save a little money on flags, this is a good alternative, buy one flag instead of two.

Unless you are playing in an open field, and have the luxury or the willingness of one of your players to be the umpire, you’ll have to use the honor system when playing this game. If someone shoots you, you’ll have to yield, and exit the game according to the rules you have in place. If there is a time limit, you’ll have to sit out, and ponder exactly how you are going to get back in there, and help out your team. If there is no time limit, and you are out for the rest of the game, just be patient and wait for the next game!

Again, this is one the classic games for airsoft. With airsoft having its roots in paintballing, this game is derived from the paintballing version of the game. The difference is, in airsoft you get the realism of combat apparel and equipment, thus increasing the level of adrenaline for the extreme sport lover. So get suited up, get out there and have fun!

Finding the Latest Right Gear

Tuesday 7 July 2009 @ 7:25 pm

Snowboarding is a sport that has grown to become wildly popular in recent years and competes in many resorts with traditional skiing for the peak trails and lifts. Only a few years ago this sport was confined to a smaller segment of winter enthusiasts and was actually banned in several major ski resorts. With the exposure snowboarding has been receiving as a legitimate sport on many major TV networks and improvements in equipment, it has slowly entered the mainstream over the decades. It is even a featured event in the Olympic Games that draws teams and fans from all over the world.

Snowboarding At Least 100 Years Old

Snowboarding has been around in various cruder forms for close to 100 years in the United States and the first commercial snowboards were produced around 1970. These early models were based on a skateboard design and had a rope attached to the front of the board for steering. Over the years the design has been refined to include many features found on traditional skis like polished edges and bindings that make modern snowboards safer and easier to control.

Hundreds of Board Styles

Many snowboarding shops carry hundreds of board styles from various manufacturers. These bare boards can be customized with graphics, and fitted with bindings from other specialty companies to make the snowboard a custom fit. Some of these snowboarding shops are dedicated to snowboarding only and others sell all types of winter gear including skis and sleds. Finding the right shop for your needs can take a little work and there are a few things you can ask to make sure you get what you need.

Snowboarding Experts

Many snowboarding shops are either owned by snowboarders or have a few snowboarding experts on their staff to answer your questions. They can be a great source of information on the best board and bindings for you. If you are new to the sport, start with a very basic board and be sure to select bindings that fit you, but are not too tight. This way you can easily upgrade your snowboard as you get more experience and have your bindings moved to the new board.

Flips Off Ramps

There are many styles of snowboards and the one you choose should reflect the type of snowboarding you are looking to do. If you are just looking for some fun on the slopes, a simple board will work great. If, on the other hand, you want to do tricks like flips off ramps and grinding rails, you need to have a very specific snowboard to handle this. The good snowboarding shops can help steer you to the perfect equipment. There is also an excellent selection of online snowboarding shops to help you find the right gear as well.

Type of Clothing Is Important

Other equipment you need to secure before you hit the slopes is the proper clothing to keep you warm without restricting your arm movements. Unlike skiing, snowboarding does not use poles and you need to be able to move your arms to maintain your balance so be sure you can swing your arms freely with whatever clothing you buy. You should also get a good pair of goggles and a helmet. Snowboarding can be a very fast sport and a helmet can save you from serious injury if you fall or collide with another snowboarder. Again, the better snow-boarding shops can really help you pick the perfect gear for your days on the slopes.

Facts About Airsoft Green Gas

Tuesday 7 July 2009 @ 9:53 am

Green gas is basically no more than propane. Many gas airsoft rifles and pistols use green gas as their propellant. These airsoft guns are the most powerful suite of airsoft guns. Although propane is flammable, it is usually no more dangerous than many common hairsprays and refrigerants. These green gas canisters come in aerosol cans, just like hairspray.

Green gas is often tagged as a haz mat (hazardous material) when it comes to shipping and delivery. Therefore many stores do not stock it. However, it can be found online, and a small canister might sell for around $20-$40. But again, the shipping will be higher, so make sure that you buy some other airsoft products, to help balance out the costs. This may seem costly, but one small can of green gas can last for many, many refills of your airsoft gun. If you want cheap airsoft guns, you probably aren’t interested in green gas guns. Green gas airsoft guns are the high end airsoft guns, and you will be paying more for them. If you want cheap airsoft guns, consider going with spring powered airsoft guns or electric airsoft guns.

Green gas gives the most lifelike action of any of the airsoft products available to date. Especially when combined with a blowback gun, the firing experience will have a loud sound, as well as a kick when the slide or hammer is engaged. Often this will be combined with an automatic reloading of the airsoft gun. Thus, you can have semi-automatic or fully automatic gas airsoft pistols and guns.

It is important to note that while green gas is basically propane, green gas includes some additives that help keep the seals and other parts of the airsoft gun in good working order. So if you are thinking of using your own propane instead of certified green gas, it’s ok, just know that you’ll need to grease up the moving parts of your airsoft gun.

So when it comes to having mil sims or law enforcement simulations, using green gas with gas airsoft guns is the most lifelike combination. These airsoft guns normally have just as much weight as the real thing, use full metal, are high powered, and when used with heavier BBS (like .2g or .25g) can be extremely accurate, even at longer ranges. So if realism is your fancy, you will want to go with green gas and gas powered airsoft guns.

Find cheap airsoft guns and gas airsoft rifles at amazing prices from the top dealer in airsoft guns!
