Million Dollar Quartet Tickets - Rock ‘N Roll’s Magic Night!

The day was December 4, 1956, and the event was one that would become the most legendary incident in Rock ‘N Roll history. At Sun Records Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, three of the greatest legends of rock met together. The men were Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry lee Lewis and Johnny Cash, and most surprising of all was that the event was completely unplanned. The four artists were not scheduled to arrive at that time they simply all dropped in and before anyone knew it the joint was rocking like never before.

Million Dollar Quartet tickets will take you back to the night when all the magic happened. At the time it was only a year since Elvis had recorded his first big hits with the songs “That’s All Right Mama,” “Blue Moon of Kentucky,” “Good Rockin’ Tonight,” “Baby Let’s Play House,” and “Mystery Train” which are still considered by some to be the greatest rock ‘n roll ever created. He was just at the beginning of what would prove to be one of the most illustrious music careers in history.

Carl Perkins was also still an up-and-coming artist, and it would be a few years before he released his first major album, but his talent was already evident. He was also the author of the song “Blue Suede Shoes,” a song that was recorded by Elvis and was becoming a big hit at that time. Perkins would later go on to become a Grammy Award winning artist, whose career continued until his death in 1998, at the age of 66.

Jerry Lee Lewis is the only one of the four that is still alive. At the time that the quartet met Lewis was still two years away from his big breakout hit, “Whole Lotta Skakin’ Goin’ On.” But his musical genius was already known to some, and his hits would soon become the talk of the town. This rocker would go on to ignore all the boundaries of his genre and become one of the most successful artists of his day. His music was going to keep on brining in fans for decades to come. Like the rest of the group, Lewis is a one-of-a-kind legend, and the world is glad that one of the four is still with us.

Then, of course, there is the one and only Johnny Cash, whose life has been one of the most talked-about rock phenomenons in music history, second only to his contemporary, Elvis Presley. When the Million Dollar Quartet met for their one-time jam session at Sun Records, he had recently had his second single released with Sun Records and his music was quickly becoming the talk of the town. The song was “Folsom Prison Blues,” and his music would become increasingly popular, though the next decade would be a rocky one for him. But he would eventually come clean and, in a move that shook the industry, he decided to become a born-again Christian.

Million Dollar Quartet is the musical that tells the story of the one-time jam session between these four true guitar heroes, and it is one show that you will not want to miss. Tickets are currently available for this new show at the Apollo Theater in Chicago, so be sure to pick them up while you still can. Do not miss this incredible show.
