Storage Benches, Use Them Indoors And Outdoors

Storage benches are ideal for homes and decks because they are extremely versatile. They are made in many different styles and can function as both a storage unit and extra seating when needed. There are many ways and places to use a storage bench after you have made the purchase whether it be inside or out on the deck.

An outdoor area where a storage bench would be the most useful would be out by a pool or hot tub. Storage benches are ideal near a pool setting because they can hold towels, pool equipment, and accessories like goggles or scuba gear. Storing towels and pool clothing inside the storage bench will make towels quick and easy to obtain and save you a lot of time cleaning up what would otherwise be a wet mess inside the house. Pool equipment will also not run the risk of being damaged due to being left out on the yard to be trampled on.

A storage bench near a pool or hot tub is also useful because they will provide an area to sit and relax when you get out of the water. Storage benches made from polyresin or plastic are recommended near a pool to avoid decay due to excess moisture on wooden benches.

Another useful place to put a storage bench is, of course, on the deck or porch. Storing cushions, gardening equipment, and tools is easy and the space on your deck will double due to the reduced clutter. Also your items will stay safe and dry inside the storage bench, reducing the risk of cushions fading in the sun or acquiring mold or mildew after a rainstorm.

Storage benches work great on decks or porches because not only does your organization improve, but you will also be able to disguise it by using it as extra seating. Many storage benches come with optional backrests and some even include cushions built on top of the lid for added comfort.

Storage benches are great additions to any collection of furniture inside the home as well. Many storage benches made for the indoors are made of wood, leather, or plastic and can double as other pieces of furniture. Storage benches made of leather can be used as seats or ottomans and will organize magazines, books, and pillows inside. They will also match beautifully with other leather furniture.

Indoor storage benches made of wood can also double as extra furniture such as a bench near a door. Storing extra blankets, coats, hats, and pillows is convenient for easy access before exiting the house. Some even have tall backboards with hooks attached to hang coats from. Storage benches near a door or in a breezeway can also help reduce the amount of dirt tracked in through your home if you ask your family to place their dirty shoes and boots in the bench before coming in. It will also provide a nice seat to assist you when putting on or taking off shoes.

A living room is also a great area to place a storage bench. Living rooms have so much excess clutter due to blankets, clothing, pillows, and books which are usually laying all around. Storage benches also make great end tables or coffee tables.

No matter where you decide to put your storage bench, they will be a long-lasting investment and worth your money in the long run.
